Israel Attacks Gaza!

By Dr. David Hocking

Thanks to a successful use of misinformation, Israel managed to catch Hamas off-guard on Saturday and kill over 200 of the terror group’s members in a massive aerial attack on the Gaza Strip. The strike was described by local media as Israel’s version of “shock and awe,” as a fleet of 60 attack aircraft simultaneously destroyed 50 targets across the Hamas-controlled territory. All of the targets were Hamas command centers, bases and weapons storage facilities.

According to numbers released by the Palestinians, some 215 Hamas terrorists, including a number of senior commanders, were killed in the strike, and hundreds more were wounded. Tens more Hamas members were killed as the Israeli air forces kept up the pressure on Sunday. Despite the scale of the attack, Israel managed to keep civilian casualties to just 15 dead. Israeli military and political officials attributed the success of the strike to their ability to mislead Hamas by feigning disunity over how to respond to days of incessant terrorist rocket fire on southern Israel. Defense Minister Ehud Barak even ordered the border crossings between Gaza and southern Israel opened on Friday despite the terrorists hitting Israeli communities with 25 rockets during the previous 24 hours. The Israeli media was also credited for playing along with the ruse, which resulted in Hamas members gathering in large numbers at facilities across Gaza unaware of the looming threat.

Gaza-based terrorists fired over 80 rockets at southern Israel on Saturday afternoon and overnight in response to the Israeli attack. One Israeli was killed and seven others were wounded when several of the rockets scored direct hits on family homes. One of the victims was listed in critical condition. Israeli officials said the terrorist response would have been much worse if not for a follow-up wave of some 20 Israeli aircraft killing most of the Hamas forces that rushed to their rocket launchers immediately after the Israeli bombs dropped.

PA leader 'begged' Israel to hit Hamas – Aaron Klein - www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=84699

To world, however, Abbas condemns Gaza strikes as 'barbaric,' 'unnecessary'

JAFFA, Israel – Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his office today slammed as "barbaric" and "unnecessary" Israel's air strikes in Gaza, but according to top diplomatic sources in Jerusalem, Abbas for months now has been petitioning Israel to launch a massive military raid against his Hamas rivals in Gaza.

The sources, speaking to WND on condition of anonymity, said Abbas and his top representatives have waged a quiet campaign for months asking the Israeli government to target Hamas in Gaza just before his term in office is scheduled to expire on Jan. 9.

Hamas leaders have repeatedly warned they will not recognize Abbas after the 9th, and that they will launch a major campaign to delegitimize the PA president and install their own figures to lead the Palestinian government.

Abbas hopes a large-scale Israeli military campaign in Gaza would distract Hamas from attempting to undermine his rule, the diplomatic sources told WND.

"It's an open secret among the diplomatic and military brass," one Israeli diplomatic source said. "The campaign from Abbas for us to attack Hamas in Gaza has been intensive."

Could this be the start of the war of Psalm 83?

How many Christians died in Gaza by the Israeli attack? How many Christians injured? Is this of any concern? Israel is a Jewish state not a Christian country!

As usual, liberals and Jew-haters all over the world will be calling for "restraint" on the part of Israel as it responds to years of daily rocket attacks from its enemies. Where is the cry for restraint to Hamas at ANY time? Doesn't happen. Hopefully Obama learned enough Scripture such as the Lord promising Abraham "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you" in his black-liberation 'Christian' church to know that a strongly pro-Israel policy is the only sensible U.S. position.

I have a question forRaja who wrote above.

What does how many Christians died in Gaza have to do with Israel responding to terrorists attacking and killing their people????? WHAT is Israel supposed to do? Everyone always tells them to restrain themselves, while the Arab world and Hamas continues to launch rockets and kills Israelis.

I don't understand, how much restrain are they supposed to have? Shall they wait until they are annihalated? Or maybe thats what you want.

Remember, the Jews are still God's chosen people... they may not be Christians now, but the bible says they will come to God before then end - He will save a remnant.
