Two Guys Changing The World

By Michael G. Mickey

Like everyone else, I've been sitting back, soaking up all that has transpired in the first few days of life in America under the Obama administration. Not much has happened that's surprised me thus far, but one thing I saw in the news really piqued my curiosity concerning where America is going to be headed in the not-too-distant future if a certain leader in Europe gets what he wants.

In the aftermath of the global economic crisis, the most dominant voice within the leadership of the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy has been that of French president Nicolas Sarkozy. Arguably the most influential leader presently heading a major power in the bloc, Sarkozy has been aggressive in his efforts to create global institutions that will, beyond the shadow of a doubt, bring us closer to the creation of the prophesied new world order the Antichrist will someday head.

Thomas J. Mulcair, a member of the Canadian Parliament, recently praised the French President for his calls for stronger global governance, saying: "Sarkozy is taking the strongest leadership role in the world right now on these issues."

Not only is Sarkozy a new world order trail blazer getting a lot of notice of late, he is a prominent leader in seeking to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Having gone to the troubled Middle East at the outset of hostilities in Gaza and, most recently, planning to host an international conference in Paris in the months ahead dedicated to advancing the hope of a permanent peace agreement being reached between the two long-time enemies, "Sarko" is a major player on the world stage right now.

Sarkozy, from my perspective, is doing an admirable good job of making a name for himself in the global community alone, but he's looking for a partner it seems.

According to Monsters and Critics, Sarkozy had been impatient since November, waiting for Barack Obama to take office so "the two of them could 'change the world.'"

Already, Barack Obama is changing things dramatically in the United States. Given his willingness to do most anything to restore America's posture in the world, even if doing so means having tea with Iranian madman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, it isn't hard for me to buy the notion that Nicolas Sarkozy will find, in President Barack H. Obama, just the kind of guy willing to join him in changing the world.

The question is: How much change will these two charismatic men, a dynamic duo in the eyes of the world to be sure, be able to bring?

In April, the G-20 will meet, during or after which I suspect we'll have a genuine sense of how these two are going to interface with one another at the very latest.

If all goes well in the first face-to-face Sarkozy and Obama have, I suspect these two guys will walk away from it with some sort of working plan concerning how they're going to change the world. Trust me when I say it won't be a good thing, especially where our nation's sovereignty is concerned. Who knows? That may be the least of our worries!

The months ahead are going to be fascinating. Of that I'm certain.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and stay tuned!
